February 21 - DoylesRoom.com has officially stopped accepting Real Money American online poker players, the latest casualty in the war on online gambling in the US, sparked by the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIGEA) by Congress last year. Current players have the option to have their funds transfered to Full Tilt Poker. From the press release: "As you may be aware, the management of the Doyle Brunson Poker Network has decided not to permit online real money play by U. S. based players. U. S. online poker players are not permitted to sign up for real money play or deposit funds into existing accounts. Commencing March 1, 2007, all U. S. players on DoyleRoom.com will be blocked and…will be able to access only the withdrawals page." This is another sad say for U.S. poker players, as we have one less place to play, (And Doyle's Room had Badugi too!) . This is just another reason to join the Poker Players Alliance . Plus we hear something about Full Tilt players getting to play in a $2500 freeroll if they join the Poker Players Alliance (it's free to join!). Help fight for our right to go all in! |
