Congress Passes Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIGEA)
Saturday, 14 October 2006

On Friday, October 13, 2006 President Bush signed the "SAFE Port Act" into law. An unrelated provision of the bill also seeks to enforce laws that forbid U.S. Banks from handling funds used in online gambling.

In reaction, some online sites have closed their doors to U.S. players, while others remain open for business, since poker is a skill game, and exempt from broad gambling legislation.

We have put together information on various poker sites that are still accepting U.S. players. If you previously played on a site that no longer accepts your business, we hope this information will be helpful as you look for new places to play online poker.
